The update provides improved compatibility with Adobe Integrated Runtime (AIR) web applications, Yahoo Widgets, and Google Reader. Safari now better handles RSS feeds, empty Content-type headers, and HTTP and NTLM authentication. Hardware compatibility with early CPUs that do not support the SSE instruction set and with certain video cards has also been improved. On the Mac side, improvements include compatibility with Mac OS X's parental controls, Dashboard widgets, the standard Mail and iChat applications, plus the third-party BBEdit program. As with the Windows version, Safari 3.0.2 also provides improved compatibility with Google Reader. The new versions can be downloaded from Apple's web site or (if an earlier beta is already installed) by using Software Update (Mac OS X) or Apple Software Update (Windows). Among the key features still to be added to the browser are PAC file auto-detection, FTP directory listings, cookie management, spell checking and support for page numbers, titles and margins when printing web pages.{moscomment}
