 Telephone calls to the Computer Power Group office and media liaison office went unanswered today as the news hit the street that the Australian IT training company had gone into administration.In May 2005, EasyCall International (ASX:EZY), the Singapore-based owner of IT training institute, Computer Power, raised doubts about the ongoing commercial viability of the Australia-wide training business. EasyCall launched legal action against the previous owner of Computer Power, Spherion Corporation in the Australian Federal Court, alleging that Spherion deliberately provided incorrect financial information concerning CPG prior to the sale. Spherion defended the case. An EasyCall advisor initially indicated that Computer Power would continue operating and was "going from strength to strength". However, in a subsequent statement to the ASX, EasyCall indicated that the future of Computer Power was in doubt and that its commercial viability was questionable. Approximately 90 staff and more than 1200 students have been affected by the closure of Computer Power. In announcement to the ASX, the company said that administrators Ferrier Hodgson have been appointed.
