Identum, the US-based developer of the Private Post email encryption range, is bringing is products to Australia through a distribution agreement with Australian IT security products distributor WhiteGold.

Private Post uses a combination of the AES 256-bit cryptosystem and claims a "sophisticated breakthrough in key exchange that makes encryption a reality for every email user".

Private Post for Business is an integrated suite that includes Private Post for Outlook, Private Post for Outlook Express, Private Post Reader for Windows XP and the Private Post Network Deployment Wizard. Multiple licence packs are available for between 5 and 250 users. These can be used together to scale to any number of users for the SME, corporate and enterprise sectors.

Postmaster General allows solution providers to integrate email privacy either from gateway-to-gateway, desktop-to-desktop, or any combination they choose. It allows developers to include a customised and compliant email encryption scheme with content management, SPAM, virus filtering or firewall appliance.

Identum will be presenting Private Post on the WhiteGold stand at the AusCERT Asia Pacific Information Technology Security Conference in May.
