ImageAn un-conference of sorts is taking over Chennai this week-end. BlogCamp.in will be hosting what it claims to be “the biggest and most comprehensive blog event ever conducted in India” on September 9-10, 2006.

The “un-conference” (a conference where the content of the sessions is driven and created by the participants, generally day-by-day during the course of the event, rather than by a single organizer) is expected to facilitate bloggers sharing their stories and be inspired by innovative and successful blogging experiences.

Syed Nazir Razik, one of the chief co-ordinators of the BlogCamp.in, is thoroughly excited. “Already we are a sell-out with media and the sponsors. Yahoo!, Nokia, Apple, Spice Jjet, Ford, Fuente, to name a few, are all pitching in to make this a huge success. This saying is so true – it doesn’t rain but pours,” he tells iTwire in an email interview.

Robert Scobleizer, one of the most popular tech geek bloggers, will also be virtually attending this event.

Invitations are underway to some additional popular bloggers, such as Amber Mac Arthur, Tara Hunt, Chris Messina, Steve Boyd, and prominent Indian bloggers like Ajit Balakrishnan, Dina Mehta, Rajdeep Sardesai, Krish Srikanth, Karthik Chidambaram.

A Yahoo! podcast by Sunil Gavaskar, India’s well known cricket hero is set to get the bloggers rolling. “We are gathering a lot of active and prominent bloggers to come for the event and share their experiences on this platform. There would also be a separate panel set up to take care of infusing good content and interesting action for the two days,” Syed added.

The two-day event will have exclusive tracks for blogging, podcasting and videocasting, with a workshops, practical demos, presentations, interactive quizzes, lectures group discussions and games. {moscomment}
