Mac users can now make free video calls to other Skype users, Windows or Mac with the latest, beta, version of the Skype softphone for Mac OS.
Skype for Mac OS X 2.0 beta requires a Macintosh computer with Mac OS X v10.3.9 or newer, a G4, G5, or Intel processor running at a minimum of 800 MHz. Even if only one party on the call has a webcam, the video is still shown to the other party. Users can also see how they appear to the other party in a small side window.

Skype has also released Skype for Mac OS X 1.5 Gold (Version 1.5.0.79). New features include: easier dialing of standard phone numbers; Quickfilter, which enables the user to find a contact by typing in the first few letters of the contact's name; and the ability to import contacts from Apple's Address book and Microsoft Entourage.
