According to a hardware reseller and systems integrator, who wishes to remain anonymous, they can expect to get about a 20% discount on Vista, which in most instances they would pass on to the consumer. Thus, the Vista Ultimate component of a new brand name PC will be about AUD$600. While Microsoft Office 2007 pricing has not been announced, prices of about AUD$500 to AUD$800 (leaving aside much cheaper student editions) have been postulated. Thus, Australia has reached a point where the hardware component of a new Windows PC loaded with Office 2007 will be somewhere between 30% to 40%.
