Accounting software provider Sage has released in to the Australian market a new cloud-based employee self-service application that integrates with its MicrOpay payroll solution.

The Australian-developed product, Sage ESS, includes functionality that addresses many of the unique HR and payroll requirements of Australian legislation.  

Country vice president Sage Australia, Alan Osrin, says ESS is an easy to use and visually appealing application that gives employees and managers self-service access to update their personal and banking details, check pay advice and apply for, approve or track leave – and is a scalable and flexible solution suitable for organisations of all sizes and across any industry.

“Allowing employees to access their data in a self-serve model ensures that the HR team is no longer bombarded with emails, calls and employee ‘walk-ins’ seeking answers to simple questions,” Osrin says.

“By using Sage ESS, the HR department is free to focus on strategic work such as talent management and training.

“Because it is built for the cloud, users can access Sage ESS from wherever they are and on whatever device they choose.

“The barriers between work and personal life are dissolving with the use of mobile devices. Managers often need to approve requests while on the go and employees want a fast and user-friendly application accessible from anywhere, at any time and on any device. Sage ESS is a solution built for the modern workforce.”

According to Osrin, Sage ESS removes the need to print or email pay advice and payment summaries, delivering cost benefits and increased efficiency.

With ESS, pay advice and payment summaries are generated in MicrOpay and transferred to Sage ESS for employees to view and download after each pay.
