Global-gone-local marketplace Amazon.Com.Au now offers Amazon Prime in Australia, with free two-day delivery, plus Prime Video, Prime Reading, Twitch Prime and other inclusions.

Amazon's US site enjoys 100 million paid Amazon Prime members around the globe, with free delivery on eligible items and various other shopping and entertainment benefits. Of course, this delivery was within the US, and did not benefit Australian shoppers. That may well be moot with Amazon.com announcing it will not ship to Australia from July 1 anyway.

Fortunately, Amazon Prime has landed in time to help Australians settle in and enjoy the local offering.

Amazon Prime is available in Australia from today with a free 30-day trial. After that it will be charged at $59 for an annual subscription, or $4.99 per month until January 1 2019, and $6.99 per month from January 1.

Amazon Prime offers Australian shoppers free delivery on millions of local items and international items available from the Amazon Global store - not the same as Amazon.com - within two business days for 90% of Australians. International purchases must have a minimum value of $49.
